RESET 2021: Yoga Nidra Meditation with Bill Leonard
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is also known as “Yogic Sleep” or ” Conscious Rest”. It provides the most benefit with the least amount of effort.
What you can expect during and after the practice of Yoga Nidra
Bill will guide you with awareness and relaxation exercises to prepare your mind and body for Yoga Nidra. Nidra seeks to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, and therefore stimulate Prana- the subtle energies of your vital force.
Lying in bed, or on the floor, use any bolsters/ blankets that allow you to feel supported and relaxed. Eye pillow or cloth to block light also great.
During Yoga Nidra, Bill guides you throughout your inner and outer body. This body scan incorporates meditation on the breath, the balancing of emotional states, visualization, and self-healing. Setting a positive intention is part of the process. During this time, you will move through different stages of consciousness just as in sleep: witness a shift between the waking state, dream state, and finally to deep, dreamless sleep.
What is possible with Yoga Nidra Meditation?
Yoga Nidra creates deep relaxation for health, mental peace, and higher awareness. In addition, it is a way to practice self- mastery of the autonomic nervous system. The technique is practical and easily accessible. Anyone can do it!
With this restorative kind of rest, you can enhance functioning of the immune and metabolic systems. This, in turn, improves your overall physical health and leads to higher energy and improved immune system. This Yogic rest also can improve mental health, eliminating brain fog, insomnia, anxiety attacks, PTSD, and depression.
Not limited to just the deep physical relaxation, Nidra is a way to manifest beneficial aspects into your life through your intention and clarity of focus.
On this wonderful guided journey with Bill, you will have an opportunity to let the universe know what you desire. Nidra provides a reset for the mind and body that leaves you with a sense of having given yourself a precious gift, that keeps giving to you long after the actual practice ends.
