Xiomara was born and raised in Cali, Colombia and moved to South Florida when she was 8. She developed a passion for psychology and metaphysics at a very young age, and discovered yoga when she was 16 years old.
At 19, she completed the Ananda yoga teacher training at Red Pearl in 2013. She began teaching right away and has been a part of the South Florida Yoga community ever since. She was blessed to train with Surendran Panderan, Nipa Dooshi, Lisa Pumper, Steve Feinzig and Alex Issaev; and learned many different styles of yoga, meditation, tantra and Ayurvedic nutrition throughout the years. She developed a passion for alignment based yoga and became fascinated with meditation.
Xiomara is passionate about holistic wellness and is studying integrative nutrition. She is a lover of the sea and extremely passionate about ocean conservation, animal equality and the detoxification of the planet. Her energizing and detoxifying, classes are the perfect combination of breath, movement, meditation and knowledge.
(And, just in case you were wondering, it is pronounced SEE o mara)
- Favorite place to meditate?
In my room between 5 and 6am. The energy at that time is AMAZING!
- How did you discover yoga?
I borrowed a book from my high school library. Next day my Mom took me to a class. That Yoga feeling slowly became a part of me; Then I slowly became Yoga.(I found that book a few years ago and couldn’t help a smile. )
- What have you given up that still tempts you?
Cheese. It’s like a toxic ex-boyfriend who keeps sneaking back into my life.
- Favorite food?
Plant based bowls. With avocado!
- Who or what inspires you?
Strong women who lead by example and are guided by Love.
