
JANICE JACOBS
Janice Jacobs has been a student of yoga for over 40 years. A Florida native, she enjoyed a 30-year career as an Animation &Visual Effects Producer for film and television in Toronto. Janice produced live-action national commercials and award-winning documentaries and more than 500 PSA’s (public service announcements) for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Network before getting drawn into an exploding animation industry in Toronto.
Returning to Fort Lauderdale in 2016, she immersed herself in yoga at The Barkan Method with Jimmy-ji Barkan. In quick succession, she earned Level I, II and III teacher training certificates with well over 1,000 hours to her credit, and she continues this education earning certification to teach Block
Therapy™ in 2022.
One of Janice’s other passions is visual storytelling. Janice is the founder of Heirloom Bios, and produces personal film biographies, documentary style, for her clients. Her objective is to establish the Heirloom Bios brand, and to continually learn more about life through other people’s stories, told with passion and
engagement while continuing to grow as a Yoga teacher and student.

Near or in a body of water – pool or larger - How did you discover yoga?
YMCA pool was closed. A yoga class was starting up, so I went there… and kept going. - What have you given up that still tempts you?
