Dan has cultivated a deep gratitude and appreciation for yoga. Whether its practicing on his own, in a studio or whether he’s leading a class of new or experienced yogis, he always seeks to integrate the connection of mind, body and spirit through breath and movement.
Dan started on his yoga path over 10 years ago and became a 200-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT) in August 2019 and received his 300-hour RYT through Bija Yoga School in October 2020.
As someone who works in the corporate world, Dan truly understands the necessity of getting away from the desk and computer and just simply becoming present in the here and now.
1. Favorite place to meditate?
I have a dedicated space in my house where I can just let go of everything.
2. How did you discover Yoga?
A crush of mine took me to a Bikram class in Portland, Oregon in 1996. Not sure what happened to my crush, but yoga has been part of my life ever since.
3. What have you given up that still tempts you?
Running. I used to love it but realized that my knees don’t particularly love it anymore.
4. Favorite type of food?
I love all food, but my favorite is Ethiopian – that berbere spice is awesome.
5. What or Who inspires you?
The Yoga community here in South Florida. From the first moment I walked into a studio, I felt welcomed and supported by this amazing sangha of teachers, leaders, mentors, and students.
