Favorite place to meditate?
The kitchen! Meditating in the traditional sense is difficult for me, but I find peace of mind while I discover and prepare my favorite meals.
How did you discover yoga?
My fitness fiend mom. We would go to the gym together and try just about everything, among those was yoga…and it stuck!
What have you given up that still tempts you?
Hmm I never actually gave anything up – but something that tempts me? Kettle cooked potato chips.
Favorite type of food?
Thai food is always a yes – also, anything homemade.
What or who inspires you?
Kickass women that get shit done!
Maral was born in Buenos Aires and at the age of eight Miami suddenly turned into her second home.
She was always interested in physical activity growing up – thanks to her fitness fiend mom! She did her time in everything from ballet to gymnastics to soccer, but really got into her daily dance, aerobics, and yoga routine in her mid teens – variety and balance reigned!
At the age of 28 she fell in love with yoga all over again! Ten years of practice made clicked and the decision to become an instructor came naturally. Her inner desire to deepen her knowledge not only of the practice, but more importantly of herself, led her to a 200 HR RYT Certification via All You Can Yoga.
Iyengar Yoga is her passion, it’s the style that has kept her coming back to her practice time and time again. Focusing her studies with certifed Iyengar teachers Javier Wilensky and Colleen Gallagher was the logical next step!
Maral’s Alignment Based classes integrate her love of variety with the fundamentals of alignment. She brings humor and a softness to this practice and motivates. Students experience a more detail oriented approach that allows them to explore themselves physically and challenge themselves mentally, all while discovering contentment with where they’re at.
