The Illumination of the Yoga Sutra: While yoga practices can vary from one tradition to another, all authentic yoga traditions honor the teachings of The Great Yogi Patanjali. Patanjali codified classical yoga in his immortal text called the Yoga Sutra. Ricky has a special talent for passing on this often complex knowledge with tremendous clarity. We will explore the precise meaning of Yoga, the different activities of the mind and ways to liberate suffering through the practices of Kriya Yoga and 8-Limb Path called Ashtanga.(not the same as Ashtanga Vinyasa) There will a lot of Sanskrit so bring your notes and a copy of the Yoga Sutra(book not included)

Secrets of Arm Balances: Swami Svatmarama, author of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, states success can be attained in a relatively short time of 1-2 years, given correct knowledge is practiced courageously. Learn the foundations and techniques for progressive arm balancing postures. Explore postures like bakasana (crow), parsva bakasana (side crow), ekapada koundinyasana variations and dwipada koundinyasana, ashtavakrasana (8 angle pose) adhomuhka vrkshasana (handstand), pincha mayurasana (forearm balance) and more. Learn how to overcome obstacles in performing these postures with ease and confidence.

Ricky Tran, E-RYT, BBA, CYT, RYT, CBA, has a remarkable cross-cultural life story of survival, reinvention, and the transformational power of yoga. The young yoga master went from a path of addiction and self-destruction to a path of self-realization in a few short years under the guidance of real yoga masters. Ricky earned a BBA in entrepreneurship, management, and real estate from the University of North Texas in 2002 and has lead yoga workshops, teacher trainings, and retreats throughout the United States. He founded the Breakfast Yoga Club in in 2010 and the Krama Yoga Center in Dallas in 2011.
