Yin Yoga – Felix

Yin
1 hour and 15 minutes

Yin Yoga combines the deep, slow stretch of the connective tissues, with focus on alignment and some light muscle activation. Great for all levels as it helps to refine your postures as well as release any accumulated tension in the body. Most of class is done on floor, sitting or lying down. Stretches are sustained for anywhere from 3-7 minutes, using supports such as bolsters, blankets, straps as needed for each student. These passive holds allow focus on the breath, and the body’s reactions to surrender and release. The postures are done with minimal muscle activation to allow deep access to the connective tissues and joints.

For information on (scheduled)class cancellations or holiday hours refer to the NEWS TICKER feature on our home page. You can also sign up for our email announcements, check our Facebook page. Remember to read the posts on the lobby chalkboard so you are aware of upcoming changes.

Early for Class?
Lobby opens 15 minutes before class so that we have practice and prep time. Please be patient while we get ourselves and our space ready for you.

Late to Class? If you are more than 10 minutes late for class, you will not be admitted into the classroom. This is first, for your own safety, and secondly, in consideration of the other students’ practice; It is distracting to them and to the teacher. If there is no one at the desk, you will find the lobby doors locked.

As a yoga teacher, I hope to help people learn to be comfortable in their own skin and show compassion to themselves . We live in a society of disconnectedness and we are constantly reminded we are not enough or we don’t have enough. Comparison is the thief of joy, and I encourage my students to find joy in every little thing they can.
