Vinyasa – Emmy

Vinyasa
1 hour and 15  minutes (up to 90 minutes)

Follow your breath, get a good sweat, and let it all go.

In our Vinyasa classes, expect to move through flowing explorations of standing and seated postures, back bends, balances twists and inversions. You will  create a “moving meditation” adding sweat , strength, flexibility and more to the mix.

How far do you want to go?

You will be invited to work toward your edges, building strength, endurance and flexibility along the way. You will also be building up a good sweat and releasing toxins.

Each class takes a different focus or intention and no two are ever the same- For example, one day hip openers, another day arm balances, or maybe strength and foundation work. These exhilarating flows are taught with a detailed progression that will move you toward YOUR fullest expression of the postures- so come just as you are.
Those new to Yoga or to Vinyasa may feel challenged at times-no worries;  That is normal. Rest when you need to. We believe in allowing you YOUR experience at YOUR level.

The practice winds down to a deep savasana or guided meditation that will polish your newly sharpened edges into a peaceful, balanced and invigorated state of being.

Modifications are given for all levels.

Early for Class?

Lobby opens 15 minutes before class so that we have practice and prep time. Please be patient while we get ourselves and our space ready for you.

Late to Class?

If you are more than 10 minutes late for class, you will not be admitted into the classroom. This is first, for your own safety, and secondly, in consideration of the other students’ practice; It is distracting to them and to the teacher. If there is no one at the desk, you will find the lobby doors locked.

Born in New York and raised on a gem of an island known as the Dominican Republic, I moved to Florida after graduating high school in pursuit of a higher education with a clear goal in mind: Making a difference. Growing up in the DR, and surrounded by so much poverty, humbled and shaped me into the person I am today. With a Bachelor in Science, and a passion to make a change in the community, I flirted with different health professions as I volunteered and shadowed in different settings to identify my next move; eventually leading me to Occupational Therapy. I came across yoga during my first semester of graduate school in 2012. The class was slow, too instructional and not for me. It was not until I hit my second semester, and could not quiet my mind, that I decided to give it another chance. At the time, I was too much in my head and felt unattached to anything, or anyone. I took my first vinyasa flow class with RoseAnn at Blue Sol, and have been hooked ever since. Five years later, after obtaining a Masters in Occupational Therapy, I completed my 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher training at The Prana Lab, with the same instructor who spoke to me as I moved, breathed and grew on my mat. Yoga has changed my life. What started off as a mental practice has trickled its way into every aspect of my life. As a yoga instructor, my intention is to have my students tune into their body , guiding them through the asanas, as they feel and become aware of what feels “good” , and what doesn’t, trusting that soon enough the awareness will flow off from their mats and into their lives, as it has with mine.
